Christine Thesiger on Dyslexia

Christine Thesiger on Dyslexia

Event Overview:

One in ten of us are dyslexic — and for many, it’s more than just mixing up letters. Dyslexia can range from mild learning differences to challenges that deeply impact day-to-day life.

At our August Health Recovery Network event, we’re honoured to welcome Christine — a passionate speaker who lives with dyslexia herself, and has seen its intergenerational impact through her son and grandson.

Christine brings a personal and powerful voice to a topic that is often misunderstood. Her lived experience offers insight into the emotional and cognitive challenges dyslexic people face — and the creative strengths they bring to the world.

What to Expect:

  • A deeper understanding of how dyslexia works – not just from a textbook, but from lived experience.

  • Insights into how dyslexic minds think – often in images, patterns, and creativity rather than words.

  • Practical ways to support dyslexic individuals – in schools, workplaces, families, and communities.

  • An empowering perspective – helping us all shift from seeing dyslexia as a problem to seeing the potential.
